Stalos lies on the north-west coast of Crete 10 klm from Chania. There are two parts to Stalos, the sleepy
little village tucked on a hill surrounded by olive groves and vineyards with a backdrop of mountains, & seaside Stalos with sandy beaches and water sports. The former is Pano Stalos and the latter is Kato Stalos.
Pano Stalos provides traditional Greek authenticity with only a small shop and one or two tavernas as well as a magnificent view over the sea and the neighbouring countryside. Kato Stalos, on the other hand is a typical Greek seaside resort. The most popular time to visit Stalos is in the summer. The season extends from April to October when the temperature range is from 25-38 degrees. Stalos is popular with a wide range of holidaymakers.
Families are attracted by the beach (sand is so important for tots with buckets and spades), water sports enthusiasts have a good choice of activities and couples of all ages come to enjoy the relaxation and the interesting towns and villages in the area around Stalos. The long sandy beaches have been awarded Blue Flag status. The sand shelves gently into clear blue seas making bathing safe for children and weak swimmers.
There are opportunities for a variety of water sports including fishing, snorkelling and diving ...
