The county of Sfakia is one of the most mountainous in Crete and one the most heroic, beautiful and interesting. Sfakia is famous throughout Greece as one of the most traditional regions of Crete and for its magnificent nature, contrasting the high mountains, the plateaux of Askifou and Anopolis as well as the wild scenic coast of the Libyan sea. Sfakia enjoys a normal Mediterranean climate, with sunny and dry summers and mild and rainy winters. Between April and October you can expect practically every day to be clear and sunny when the temperature range is from 25-38 degrees.
